Wheels KTM X-Bow

KTM X-Bow
By doing away with the unnecessary encumbrances of a normal vehicle, the KTM X-Bow delivers scintillating driving experience of the kind that is usually found on a high-octane motor sports circuit. The compact two-seater car employs the finest materials, high-tech and the know-how of celebrated development partners such as Audi and Dallara. This lean and mean vehicle, with speed as leitmotif, has incorporated many concepts that are more closely associated with a high-end motorcycle than with a car. Under its hood it boasts of a state of the art four-cylinder FSI turbo engine from Audi that delivers 177 KW (240 hp), enabling the vehicle to accelerate to 100kph in just 3.9 seconds. The X-Bow optimizes driving dynamics through an ingenious aerodynamics arrangement, that can enable it to achieve a phenomenal downforce of about 200 kilograms at a speed of 200 km/h – about three times more than most other super-sport cars.

Safety features have been addressed dequately. There is crash-box in the nose of the vehicle that is capable of absorbing the force of impact in the toughest of crashes. Plus there are fourpoint safety belts for the driver and the passenger.

With such power packed under its hood, it should be easy enough for X-Bow to accomplish extraordinary feats on the racing circuits. But even outside the racing circuit, the vehicle is all geared to make driving a joy through its modern technologies and exceptional solutions. By missing out on the plethora of electronic assistants and standard comfort features, the X-Bow seeks to pump adventure into driving. A chassis made out of carbon fiber keeps the vehicle’s deadweight in the range of 700 kilos only. The sense of adventure gets exemplified by standalone wheels in the style of monoposto racing cars, transparent technology and by the car’s reduced concept, i.e. no roof, doors or windscreen.

The sports car has only a 70-millimeter, transparent wind deflector. Safety features have been addressed adequately. There is crashbox in the nose of the vehicle that is capable of absorbing the force of impact
in the toughest of crashes. Plus there are four-point safety belts for the driver and the passenger. In many ways driving the KTM X-Bow brings you the best from both worlds – you get the thrill that can only be felt when riding a motorcycle, and you get the safety of being in a car.
