US Bunkers

US Bunker Inc., a company based in Florida, has come up with an array of bunkers, which are aerodynamic, monolithic concrete structures and can be installed in homes and offices.
With global warming continuing to play dice with the planet’s climate, freak weather conditions that lead to hurricane, tornadoes, blizzards, forest fires, and floods, are getting more and more common. It is time you started thinking about a shelter that is tough enough to protect you and your family from any onslaught of capricious nature. What if the scenario that was depicted in the Hollywood blockbuster The Day After Tomorrow came true and your part of the world was struck with abrupt climate change!
And it isn’t just natural calamities that pose a threat; terrorist attacks, industrial spillage, random acts of violence, and wars, also lie in the list of dangers that you can’t afford to ignore. To protect ourselves from such dangers we need a kind of shelter that is easy to install and tough enough to withstand any type of natural or man-made calamity. US Bunker Inc., a company based in Florida, has come up with an array of bunkers, which are aerodynamic, monolithic concrete structures and can be installed in homes and offices.
Its time you equipped your house with its own bunker. If you are of the opinion that having a bunker in your backyard may spoil the overall beauty of your house, think again. Like a diamond in shape and graphically utilitarian design, these bunkers are exceedingly stylish, and their interiors are spacious enough to be equipped with the nitty-gritty of a luxurious hideout. Hey, a bunker does not necessarily have to be about hiding from some danger. You could turn it into a sort of tree house where you can go to seek ultimate privacy.
The Idea
The idea behind the bunkers is to keep people alive and working when the world around them shuts down due to one calamity or the other. In fact, it was after his nightmarish experience during Hurricane Andrew in South Florida, that Joe Villa, currently the president of US Bunkers, got the idea to start building bunkers on a commercial scale. Joe Villa and his family were caught in the middle of Hurricane Andrew. They survived only because they managed to seek shelter in a concrete warehouse.
It was six hours of hell, and the whole warehouse rattled as if all its beams, roof and door were on verge of getting smashed to pieces, but luckily for those hiding inside, the building managed to hold. But many other buildings in South Florida were not so lucky. The area was completely devastated and there was chaos

everywhere. But it was 9/11 that further reinforced the idea of building impregnable shelters and so the company US Bunkers Inc. was born.
Only the best material goes into the manufacture of each bunker, be it the 7500 psi reinforced fiber concrete and steel, or the fiberglass, wood, aluminum tubing, bolts, electrical wires and switches, acrylic and paint. Various accessories such as lamps, hardware, ladders, hatches, fans, turbines and ducts are all custom made with the best materials that are available in the market. The bunkers are practically maintenance free. A fresh coat of paint is the only thing that they may require every couple of years, and once installed they can last for centuries.
The completed bunkers are held down with the help of bolts and heavy-duty 120,000 lbs per inch welding. Once these structures are firmly anchored to their place, they are virtually impossible to move. Hurricane, typhoon, earthquake, come what may, the bunker will stay where it has been fixed and keep those inside it safe. The outer diameter of a typical bunker is about 11 feet and the inner diameter is 9 feet, which means that there is enough space for you to pack a family and their valuables.
Luxury Inside
The interiors are lined with fiberglass, which brings to it a sophisticated yacht like look. Fiberglass is also easy to clean. As far as furnishing is concerned, the bunkers can be modeled according to your tastes and your safety and communication needs. If you plan to use your bunker as a storm shelter, then you might go in for an interior that has benches and tables and shelves. In addition to that you will find all the basic necessities that are needed to make you feel comfortable.
There is a powerful ventilation system functioning by an innovative dual turbine system that will change the air inside the bunker. But if you are fearing a gas attack, or industrial pollution then it possible for you to equip your bunker with biochemical warfare filters as well as with airconditioning and heating equipment. Power failures in time of a natural calamity can be a big problem. To avoid the kind of scenario where you are rendered powerless, you can have generators, solar panels or additional battery banks mounted on or inside the bunker to turn it into a perfect self-sustaining unit. TV, DVD water, phone, and standard 12 and 110-volt lights are a normal feature.
Mobility and Uses
The bunkers are totally mobile. In a matter of hours you can have them transported anywhere around the world by a plane, helicopter or on a truck. Having very low center of gravity they tend to be exceedingly stable during transportation. Once the bunker has made it to the right location, it takes a crane to lift it and install it at the desired spot. Depending on its model, a typical bunker may weigh 12-18 tons.
But it is not as if the only use for these bunkers is to protect human lives. They can also be used to store valuables like jewelry, important documents or priceless works of art like paintings, sculptures, or anything else that you cherish. Then there are these large bunkers that are capable of taking care of your pets. It is also possible for you to turn your bunker into a communication hub that can be used to stay in contact if any of the regular channels have been destroyed.
