Meet Richard Menon! The dude is of Indian origin, settled in New Jersey, where he runs an entertainment company called Ecstasyvision Inc, a company that promises to bring to its customers, "Maximum orgasm in the comfort of their home." These days he is busy imparting finishing touches to his new film titled, The Indian Playboy. This film can be considered autobiographical, after all, Richard is the quintessential Indian Playboy.

Meet Richard Menon! The dude is of Indian origin, settled in New Jersey, where he runs an entertainment company called Ecstasy vision Inc. The most defining aspect of Ecstasy vision is subsumed in the superlative adult package they offer. You get titillation and quality adult entertainment at the same time. On the website of his company, Richard does not mince words in promising his customers, "Maximum orgasm in the comfort of your own home." These days Richard is busy promoting his new film titled, The Indian Playboy. For the story idea to this film, Richard didn't have to look far; he has used his own life as a backdrop. He calls his film a compendium of ideas on how to film quality adult entertainment. In many ways the film can be considered to be autobiographical, after all, Richard is the quintessential Indian Playboy.

We caught up with Richard in his New Jersey studio, where he was busy devising the screenplay for an important scene. It is difficult not to be impressed by the dynamism and passion that he exudes. He came out as a one-man movie-making machine, as he took us through the nitty-gritty of his next film venture. Well, after he was finished explaining his film project to us, we had a delightful and frank conversation about all aspects of his life and his job. What follows is an exclusive interview followed by a pictorial of some of the gorgeous female stars employed by Ecstasy vision.

Royal - What made you decide to move into directing and producing adult films? Is it only for money or are you genuinely trying to make a statement through your films?

Richard - I am attracted by the idea of doing something very different. Plus the fact that I was already nursing a new product idea plus the fact that I wanted to be independent, plus the fact that I had a multiple skill/talent set that I wanted to employ. And to top it all, who does not want to be surrounded by beautiful women?

Royal - What were you doing before you found a calling in adult filmmaking?

Richard - I have a MBA Certificate in Finance and have been employed as Finance professional in leading US companies including Penthouse Magazine. I gave up my job in September 06 to go full time into my venture entitled Ecstasy vision Inc.

Royal - Do you ever get turned on while shooting for a film?

Richard - Surprisingly no. However, one does get turned on thinking about a story line or how one would use a particular gal in a film scene or watching a beautiful gal in the nude getting ready for a shot. These interactions can create fantasies down the line.

Royal - What's the most embarrassing thing that has ever happened on set?

Richard - In one of my scenes, the male lead could not get an ejaculation and it was both comical and distressing for us to watch it. I have a lot of respect for the talent who have to perform as needed to keep the scene going.

Royal - The Shilpa Shetty and Richard Gere kiss is creating protests in India. If you had a chance, what would you tell these protesters?

Richard - What's the big deal? They are actors and I am sure that it was all staged to get some publicity. Richard being my namesake is a good guy. I am sure that Shilpa did not really mind it too. None of our business actually. Just the chota politicians who have nothing else to do. There are more important things for them to focus on.

Royal - What are some negatives in working in the adult industry?

Richard - Even in an advanced society like the US, there is a perception that those who indulge in porn are not really respectable. It is also associated with drugs, womanizing, etc.

Royal - Knowing Indian women we are assuming your wife did not take the news of you doing adult films very well. What was the initial reaction like and how are things now?

Richard - My wife has been with me for 26 years and that’s a lot considering all the crazy things I have done in my life. She once told me that I could screw around once in a while as long as I did not fall in love with some other girl. She is very religious person and quite conservative. However she has not seen my initial films nor dissuaded me in any way. Although, she has appeared in a very Important and frank interview in my latest film The Indian Playboy.

Royal - Have you taken advantage of that bargain?

Richard - Not yet. I do get girls who come to my office for an interview and they sit on my desk and play with my beard. If they want to flirt with me then who am I to say no.

Royal - If you could cast any Hollywood actor or actress, who would it be?

Richard - I have a great war story in mind and I would love to cast Sean Connery, Clint Eastwood, Richard Gere, and Harrison Ford. The actress role would perhaps go out to Demi Moore.

Royal - What has been your biggest challenge so far?

Richard - To market a new concept. It's extremely difficult to market a new product without adequate advertising & PR budgets. So a big thanks to Royal Magazine for the terrific publicity you are giving us.

Royal - How would you describe the Ecstasy Vision philosophy?

Richard - Ecstasy is a state of bliss that can be reached through prayer or by subjecting the human body and mind to various forms of pleasure. Our goal is to make films that bring out the natural beauty of a woman and her physical relationships in a way that excites men. Women are welcome to view the films too.

Royal - How do you cast the female actresses in your film? What is the audition like?

Richard - We normally do the initial selection of the female talent over the Internet. Then we get to see her prior videos and check out her general reputation in the adult industry. The next step is to negotiate a contract with her agent. After that we decide on how best to use her talent and beauty. It's a very time consuming process. It is more exciting when we get girls applying out of the blue.

Royal - How much does it cost you to complete one film?

Richard - Close to $20,000 USD to make two quality films over a two-day shoot. Then another 15K for Editing, DVD Cover Design, Replication, packaging, Legal Consult etc.

Royal - There are some Indian female adult stars in US but no men. Why do you think that is? Are Indian women more liberal than men?

Richard - I am sure that the Indian male stars have/are-exploring opportunities to appear in Hollywood films. However, there is lot of competition in the industry. Our women are exceptionally beautiful and talented.

Royal - Who are your favorite film directors?

Richard - I am a great fan of David Lean, Sergio Leone and Raj Kapoor.
