Jennifer Tilly

Jennifer Tilly is as smart as she is gorgeous. A proverbial beauty with such intelligence that any man can be seduced with a blink of an eye! She teases her audiences with her coy innocent sexiness, but put her at the poker table and then you find her transmogrifying into a different Tilly, one who is capable of out-thinking, out-maneuvering the best poker players in the world. It was on June 27, 2005, that she had the chance to establish herself as a world class Poker player, when she won the World Series of Poker bracelet (and $158,625) in the Ladies' No-Limit Texas Hold'em event, outlasting 600 other players.

With this win she became the first non-poker celebrity to win a World Series of Poker event. She followed up this accomplishment on September 1, 2005 by also winning the third World Poker Tour Ladies Invitational Tournament held at the Bicycle Casino in Los Angeles. Even if you are not a poker aficionado, Tilly gives you enough reasons to be her fan. Since her debut as the singing waitress in the Hollywood flick The Fabulous Baker Boys (1989) Tilly's acting career has been doing quite well. Critical acclaim came to her when she was nominated for the Academy Award in the Best Supporting Actress category for her role in Woody Allen's Bullets Over Broadway (1994).

Best thing about her is the air of irreverence with which she carries herself. She is known to have said, "Everyone said that if you want to be a real actor, go to New York. If you want to sell out, go to LA. And I thought - I want to sell out!" And sell out she did, in such a superb fashion that her fans can never have enough of her. In the recent years she has gained some additional popularity by lending her voice to the killer doll Tiffany in Child's Play series of movies. In the most recent installment of the series, called Seed of Chucky, Tilly plays a dual role - she lends her voice to Tiffany and also plays an exaggerated version of herself.

Another one of her film's that has done well at the box-office is Bella Mafia, in which Tilly plays a very convincing role of a wife whose husband is murdered because of his mafia connections. She has also been cast in Funny Farm (2006), opposite Jennifer Jason Leigh and Andie MacDowell. If anything, her personal life has been as tumultuous and thrilling as her career in films and poker. In 1981, Tilly married The Simpsons producer Sam Simon in 1984, but that ended in divorce in 1991. Currently she is dating the poker professional Phil 'Unabomber' Laak and is nicknamed 'The Unabombshell' within the poker circuit.
