Bollywood Beauties Neha Dhupia

Beauty, like most other things in life, is subjective. There is always the danger that what is considered great sense of style and great natural beauty in one person, might get perceived as flamboyantly slutty attitude in another. But if the woman being judged happens to be a Bollywood starlet named Neha Dhupia, then the boundary between great natural beauty on one side, and a flamboyant sexuality on the other side, easily dissolves. In fact, it is difficult to think of Neha Dhupia as anything but a quintessential sex goddess, who oozes sex appeal and sublimity in every one of her performances.

Her fans can never have enough of her films like Julie and Sheesha, where bold and beautiful Neha has titillated the audiences by showing skin without any reservation. About her role in Julie she says, "It's very simple. Julie has been sold to the audience as a hot film. Winds of change are blowing through our cinema. I'd almost say we're going through a period of renaissance. The approach to sex and sexuality in our cinema is changing. I don't know whether the projection of 'Julie' as a bold film will work to our advantage. I've been very honest about the way I approached the role."

Neha's career really took off when she got crowned as the Miss India in 2002. She sounds quite enthusiastic talking about her crowning glory, "I started getting calls from producers right after winning the Miss India crown. But, honestly, I wasn't trying very hard. Movies just happened to me. And now that I'm part of Bollywood I don't want to be anywhere else." Bollywood producers are so busy chasing Neha these days that there is little chance of her ever going anywhere else. She is now firmly and fixedly a part of the Bollywood pantheon of goddesses.

Stardom has brought in its wake lots of changes in Neha's life. Suddenly she finds herself very popular. People are always deluging her with invitations. But she is a girl who happens to treasure her privacy. She says, "Oh yeah. I don't go to any of the filmy gatherings. That creates a perception of arrogance. But I can live with that. You can't make everyone happy. On the set I'd rather read between shots than socialize. I've my own little house to run. I'd rather give attention to that. I've a million things to attend to." Clearly she is a girl who prefers not to get carried away by the shenanigans of filmy success. That only goes to show that her beauty and her talent is not ephemeral, she knows how to preserve herself.

She remains nostalgic about the first film that she did for a top Bollywood producer. The film was Qyamat by Harry Baweja. Teesri Annkh was the second film that she has done for the same director. These days she is busy doing films for many top Bollywood banners. She is very excited about Ek Chaalis Ki Last Local where she is totally in an unglamorous role. Describing her role in the film Neha says, "It's about these two strangers - me and Abhay Deol. The fresh pairing is exciting. We meet and spend two hours together. It is a comedy of errors. It is a really funky film."

Neha is one of those heroines whose films make as much news as her relationships. But she is not the kind of woman who will act coy about anything. She has no problem in talking about her relationships. She says, "There have been relationships off and on. But nothing spectacular and nothing right now. I don't want to fall in love. I want to rise in love. I don't want to go ballistic when I fall in love. The only thing that I want to surrender to is my work." Born on August 27, 1980 in Cochin, this daughter of a Navy officer will definitely be rich and famous before the age of thirty. As for her fairytale ending the only thing that remains is a prince charming to swoop her off her feet.
