If you are a movie buff, then a
home theatre could prove to be a
real treat for you. The pleasure of
enjoying theatre quality picture and
sound from the comfort of your home
is all yours. Though it is not cheap, it is
truly a luxury worth its price. In strictly
technical terms, it might seem difficult
to distinguish a home theatre from a
TV/DVD combo. In its most basic form
a home cinema can be a simple
arrangement of a television, DVD
player, and surround sound speakers.
But in order to enjoy a truly theatre
like experience, you need to
have a large screen; at least 42
inches across. Buying a high end
projector, LCD or Plasma TV is your
first step to movie nirvana. Second,
you have to have at least 4 speakers,
and also the equipment for
splitting the surround sound signals
and sending it to the speakers. You
will also need a good quality
audio/video input device that can
play or broadcast movies in surround
sound - a HD DVD, a Blue-Ray
or a set top box.
And, of course, in addition to all
that you will need a room where you
can set up all this equipment. A comfortable
seating arrangement is a
must to create the appropriate theatre
effect. If you are prepared to
spend more, then you can go in for
sound proofing the room, so you are
not disturbed by any outside noise.
You must also make sure that the
room can be darkened with the help
of blinds, etc.
Once you have everything in
order, you can kiss goodbye to the
hassle of driving, parking, and waiting
in queue for the sake of watching
movies at overcrowded theatres. |
