Celina Jaitley is beautiful, curvaceous, and her fans love her to the limit because she never shies away from flaunting her luscious body. She is only a recent entrant to the hallowed world of Bollywood stardom, but she has already won herself the title of ‘Bikini Babe.’ This is a title she relishes and has no plans for any image makeover in 2006. In fact, Celina countered the suggestion of an image makeover by saying, “Why should I? I enjoy this title. I have no problem with it at all. I don't wear bikinis for the sake of showing off. If I have been offered some kind of a role, which requires me to flaunt a bikini then why not? I love wearing bikinis. If this enhances my image as a bikini girl, why should that be considered a problem?”

That is Celina for you. Brilliant, saucy, beautiful, open minded and of course filled with loads of talent. Born on June 9, 1981, Celina got crowned Miss India in 2001 when she was barely twenty years old. Form there she went on to becoming a finalist in the Miss Universe 2001 contest. Though in the end the Miss Universe crown eluded her by a whisker. She later complained that the media in Puerto Rico had treated her unfairly, hinting that she was only in the contest due to political meddling behind the scenes. She said that they viewed her as a threat to the hometown girl and the eventual Miss Universe 2001 Denise Quinones.

But in the end the Miss Universe crown did not matter, for Celina was already on the fast track to success in Bollywood. In 2003, her first film Janasheen was released. The film did not do that well at the box office, but Celina’s individual performances, especially her dance numbers in the film became popular with moviegoers in India and abroad. She received a string of offers from leading directors. While choosing her future projects, Celina gave preference to those films that portrayed her as a glamorous diva. She says, “I’m young right now. I have a lot of time in the future to de-glam myself. Now I want to do roles of my age, which are glamorous because I have that image – I’m a glamorous woman. I want to be called a good-looking actress.”

A daughter of an Army officer, there was a time when Celina had her mind set on following her father’s footsteps and becoming an Army officer or an Air force pilot. But those were the childhood days, these days she is quite satisfied with strutting her stuff in popular films. About her film Jawani Diwani, in which she has very hot bikini scenes, she says, “I am playing the character of a glamorous Christian girl. I have lived up to my thoughts in the film. I am the one who has experimented with bikinis. I have tried several styles of bikinis in the film.”

What about the men in her life? The very convincing hot scene that she has given with Sunjay Dutt in Zinda have set the gossip mills agog with the idea of a real life romance between the two. But neither of the two stars have confirmed the rumors. Celina’s excellent on screen chemistry with Fardeen Khan is driving another train of similar rumors.  When she is not acting, modeling or romancing the hottest male actors she says she likes to pass her time surfing the net, reading, sketching and listening to music.
